Season Outlook

The Voorhees College baseball program is ready to begin what is to be an exciting year for the Tigers. Although the Tigers did not meet all of their goals during the 2006 season, they did manage to capture the 2006 EIAC Invitational Tournament Championship Trophy. The program is continuously being overhauled with a host of new faces in what is hoped to be a winning season.

Returning impact players include Aaron Jordan of Atlanta, Jorge Fuster and Christian Rios of Miami, Michael Curry (MVP) from Blackstock and Travis Adams, the team’s captain from Walterboro, SC. These players will be accompanied by a host of new faces that include Maurice Ransom (Rembert), George Rios (Miami), and Juan Figueroa (Miami).

The 40 game schedules that the Tigers play, will definitely be challenging as they look to break into the NAIA Region XII tournament as an at-large contender. In the past the program has enjoyed some great seasons that included capturing the EIAC regular season championship in 2001 and 2002, while being runner-ups in 1998, 1999, and 2001. The program has also earned four EIAC tournament runner-up trophies in 1991, 1992, 1994 and 1995.
