The FRESHMAN YEAR EXPERIENCE PROGRAM (FYEP) is focused on achieving a connection between students, their parents/guardians and the College by initiating and providing ongoing support and outreach during new student transition to the academic environment and developmental opportunities within the VC community.

A community where students will feel comfortable enough to
immediately engage themselves within the College environment.

The Freshman Year Experience Program makes new students’ first year easier by putting services they need where they live.  At VC, students can live in a community with other students who share their academic interests, study together, and interact with outstanding faculty, staff and orientation leaders  who reside in this residential learning environment with new students. These individuals are responsible for helping new students to establish relationships within the campus community, to become actively involved and to get them connected immediately.

This close-knit living and learning environment will help ease students'
transition to college life where they will grow academically and personally
