This Handbook is designed to
ensure that the College administers fair and uniform application of
personnel practices consistent with the values held by the College.
The objectives of our Human Resource Management program are intended
to:
- Ensure all employment-related practices are consistent with
Federal and State legislation and regulations, including, but
not limited to, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Pay
Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Equal
Employment Opportunity Act, Americans with Disabilities Act,
Workers’ Compensation, HIPPA, and Title VII of the Civil Rights
Act of 1991;
- Promote and increase productivity, effectiveness, and
responsiveness to students;
- Recruit, select, and compensate employees based upon their
academic achievement, knowledge, skills, abilities and
experience relative to job requirements;
- Provide equitable and competitive compensation and benefit
plans;

- Retain employees based upon satisfactory job performance,
providing feedback in areas requiring improvement, consistent
treatment of employees in all areas of job performance, not to
exclude as a final course of action, dismissal of employees
whose unsatisfactory job performance could not be corrected;
- Ensure proper regard for employee privacy and constitutional
rights as citizens;
- Provide flexible arrangements that will assist faculty and staff
that may have important personal or community obligations.
