The mission of the Human Resources Department is to provide Voorhees College with an efficient system of human resources programs designed to support the college’s overall mission, vision, and strategic goals. We will accomplish our mission through the following activities:

1. Establishing sound human resources practices that contribute to the overall management of the college.
2. Developing human resources policies and procedures that are consistent with the college’s management philosophy.
3. Ensuring that our employment practices are free of discrimination and bias.
4. Establishing and maintaining recruitment and employment activities that generate qualified employment applicants for current and anticipated vacancies.
5. Developing a classification system that ensures that every budgeted full-time position has a complete job description and is properly classified. Human Resources will work with hiring departments to ensure that job descriptions comply with established employment regulations.
6. Developing a compensation system that is consistent with the college’s philosophy of recognizing internal equity and external competitiveness.
7. Ensuring that all full-time employees are apprised of their individual contributions to the college through the consistent application of the college’s employee performance evaluation program.
8. Providing insurance and benefits programs that adequately address the health and welfare of our employees consistent with our financial resources.
9. Aggressively seeking ways to incorporate technology into the delivery of human resources services.
10. Providing adequate staff training on human resources related activities and processes.

The Human Resources Department maintains office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are located at 104 Wright Hall on the campus of Voorhees College, Denmark, SC. Individuals seeking employment may visit in person, or view our Job Opportunities on the web.
