Megan Freeman is a third year college cheerleading coach and because she feels cheerleading is one of her crafts, she is eager about improving and further developing the Voorhees College Cheerleading Team. She has nick named the team the “Tiger Spirit Squad” promoting role-model behavior, individual growth and plenty of school spirit. Her main goal is to implement adcademic enrichment while developing athletically in cheerleading.
Freeman is a native of Denmark, S.C. She has four years of varsity cheerleading experience from high school, including serving as captain her senior year for the East Chapel Hill High School Wildcats in Chapel Hill, N.C. During her time as a cheerleader she won “Best All Around Cheerleader” award in 2005 and “Leadership” award in 2006. She recieved the “Best Jump” title at the Universal Cheerleading Association’s summer cheer camp held in 2004 at North Carolina State University.
In college, Freeman went on to serve as the head coach as a sub-contractor for Cheer USA , where she hosted youth summer cheerleading camps for ages 7-14 in Orangeburg, S.C. (2008)
Freeman is a Voorhees alumna who graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Mass Communications and graduated in 2016 with a M.S. in Leadership from South University. She is currently working on her doctorate degree in Strageic Leadership at Regent University.
Freeman is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Public Realtions Society of America, Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business, Voorhees College Midlands Alumni Chapter, where she serves as the asssistant secretary, VCNAA 10 Under 40, Brookland Baptist Church, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She is currently the Director of Communications at Voorhees, where she works in the Division of Institutional Advancement and Development.
Tiffany Jackson is the assistant coach for the Voorhees College cheerleading team. This is her third year as an assistant coach and she assists Freeman with a variety of tasks and serves as the secondary person of contact for the squad. She has a passion for cheerleading and working with students.
Jackson is a native of Blackville, S.C. She cheered all through high school, where she served as the co-captain her junior year then captain her senior year for the Blackville Hilda High School Hawks in Blackville, S.C.
Jackson graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in Sociology from Claflin University, graduated in 2012 with a M.A. in Counseling from Webster University, and graduated in 2016 with a M. Ed. in Counselor Education from South Carolina State University.
Jackson is a member of the American School Counselor Association, Palmetto State School Counselor Association and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
She is currently a School Counselor for the South Carolina Virtual Charter School, a pianist at Rome Baptist Church in Denmark, S.C., and a volunteer for Bamberg and Barnwell counties as a Guardian Ad Litem. Jackson has three sons, Jonathan, Jeremiah (Mojo) and Javaris (LA).
