Head Coach: Jeffery Hughes

Coach Jeffery B. Hughes is entering his 5th season as the head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Coach at Voorhees College.  He has coached for 27 years, 9 in the public high schools of Orangeburg and surrounding areas and 18 on the colligate level as a head coach.  On the colligate level he has been named Conference Coach of the Year 7 times (men and women), NAIA Regional Coach of the Year 6 times (men and women), and Finalist for NAIA National Coach of the Year 3 times. 

Coach Hughes is the father of two children and boy and a girl.  His son competed for him when he coached at Claflin University. 

Hughes is a graduate of South Carolina State University and Voorhees College.  He is a native of Chester South Carolina and a 1987 graduate of Chester Sr. High School, where he was a three year captain of the Track and Field Team.
