Voorhees College participates in Toys for Tots campaign
December 18, 2018

The Voorhees College Division of Student Affairs/Athletics and Enrollment Management spearheaded the Toys for Tots drive. This initiative was sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA).
Vice President for Student Affairs/Athletics and Enrollment Management Charlene Johnson said it is important to help others who are in need during the holiday season. “The Voorhees College family is blessed and what better way to spread the joy than to give to the less fortunate,” Johnson said.
During the annual president’s Christmas drop-in, faculty and staff donated more than 200 items to be delivered to the Orangeburg, Calhoun, Allendale and Bamberg (OCAB) Community Action Agency, Inc., Possible Worlds Foundation, Inc., and the Palmetto AIDS Foundation. Also, monetary donations received during the party will be used to purchase more gifts.
President W. Franklin Evans said the institution’s generous donations are a blessing to many of our less fortunate families in our Denmark/Bamberg community and beyond. “We acknowledge with sincere gratitude the outpouring of love and cheerful giving from all our faculty and staff at the President’s Annual Christmas Celebration “Toys for Tots” campaign. It is because of their generosity children, who would not receive for Christmas, will be recipients of these donations,” Evans said.
