Voorhees College receives donation from The Links organization

Members of the Voorhees College Division of Institutional Advancement and Development (IAD) recently attended the Wilmington, N.C. Chapter of The Links, Inc. 49th Annual Fine Arts Brunch and were presented with the final $1,000 installment of a $10,000 pledge.
The purpose of the brunch was to focus on national trends and services facet, that highlighted eliminating disparities through leadership, education, and service. During the brunch, The Links, Inc. presented the institution with a check that is supporting an endowed scholarship.
Vice President for IAD Dr. Gwynth Nelson said the institution appreciates the financial assistance The Links, Inc. have provided. “Institutional advancement and development works endlessly to raise funds for Voorhees and create lasting partnerships. The Links, Inc. is a relationship we want to strengthen as we continue our efforts to serve Voorhees College,” Nelson said.
The Links, Inc. is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of over 15,000 professional women of color in 288 chapters located in 42 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
