Voorhees students elect their 2016 Homecoming King and Queen

Voorhees College crowned Ashonde D. Laidlaw and Alexis L. Smith as Mr. and Miss Homecoming 2016 during the All-College Assembly on Nov. 3.
Laidlaw, 22, is a senior biology major from Philadelphia. He is a member of the Student Activities Board, White Rose Social Club, and a student engineer at the college radio station WVCD 790 AM.
After graduation, Laidlaw plans to further his studies and attend medical school. He enjoys reading, painting and engaging friends.
Alexis Smith, 22, is a junior child development major from Blair, S.C., is also a member of the Voorhees College Concert Choir.
After graduation, Smith plans to attend graduate school and in her leisure, she enjoys singing and being active in her church.
The Homecoming parade will be held on Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. on Maple Street in Downtown Denmark. The Grand Marshal will be Dr. W. Franklin Evans, the ninth President of Voorhees College.
