Six Voorhees baseball players make the 2015 Freshman All-State Team
July 06, 2015PalmettoStateBaseball.com recently named six Voorhees baseball players to the 2015 Freshman All-State Team of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 2/National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) institutions.
Tyler Rosado, starting pitcher, Troy Rosado, first baseman, and Seth Eakin, outfielder, made first team. Justin Watts, second baseman, Roberto Face, outfielder, and Brad Isaac, two-way pitcher, made the honorable mention list.
As a team, the Voorhees (VC) Tigers rank #5 in Division I for stolen bases and #16 for errors per game. Eakin ranks No.1 in Division I for stolen bases per game (1.077) and steal attempts per game (1.115).Tyler Rosado ranks #13 in Division I in total hits allowed (41) and Watts ranks #32 in Division I for errors per game (0.481)
“I'm proud of what these men have accomplished this past season. With the commitment of these young men, I believe we will continue to put Voorhees baseball on the map,” said Head Coach Justin Thomas. “All but one are returning for the 2016 season, so the best is yet to come.”
Thomas is new to the Voorhees Tigers family as this upcoming school year will be his second year at the institution. The baseball team will pick back up practicing the week of Aug. 24 as they prepare to take on their first opponents in February 2016 against Bluefield Street, a home game.
