The 6-foot forward from Sumter, S.C., averaged 23.6 points helping the Lady Tigers to a 2-1 record for the week. A total of 21 of her 22 field goals in the three games came from behind the 3-point field goal mark, and she made 21-of-36 (58 percent) of her long-distance shots.
Davis had a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds in a 68-47 victory against Apprentice School (Va.) January 12. She also scored 27 points on 10-of-12 shooting, including 7-of-9 three-point field goals, in a 97-65 home triumph against Johnson & Wales University (N.C.) January 10.

Davis said her long-range shooting accuracy has assisted her in developing her game. “I am honored to be recognized. Now I will only work harder to improve my skills and help my team go all the way,” Davis said.
Junior power forward D’asia Miller said Davis is an impeccable leader for her teammates. “Nijah is a hard working player who takes time outside of practice to work on her game. She loves playing basketball and it shows every time she’s on the court,” Miller said.
The lady Tigers Head Coach Edward Glover said he has been coaching Davis since her freshman year in 2015. “When one of the players are recognized, it highlights her, the team, and Voorhees College. Also, it shows how hard she has worked over the years not only to be a consistent scorer but overall a great player,” said Glover.
Davis was also a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Player of the Week nominee.
