Voorhees named one of the most affordable colleges for parents in the U.S.
June 27, 2016
Voorhees ranked 97 out of 1,217 public and private institutions for the least amount of debt borrowed by parents for their child to attend undergrad each year. Voorhees College is the only institution in South Carolina ranked in the top 100 for most affordable colleges.
Parents of Voorhees’ students do not accumulate as much parent plus loans, when compared to other institutions, and their children receive a quality education. Tuition cost and the amount of student loans are important factors when deciding which college to attend.
This new ranking is one of the many things that sets Voorhees College apart from other institutions. Voorhees College will offer psychology as a new major beginning the 2016-2017 academic year, in addition, the ribbing cutting ceremony for the Living and Learning Center will take place on June 28, 2016 at noon. Also, Voorhees is currently the only HBCU in South Carolina to offer emergency management as a major. For more information on the rankings, visit https://studentloans.net/parent-student-debt-indicator-2016/ or contact Megan Freeman, director of communications, at 803-780-1191 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
