SACSCOC Fifth Year Review
Voorhees College has developed this Web site in preparation for its 2017 Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Fifth Year Review. Our on-site visit will take place Oct. 4-6, 2011. We will be utilizing this Web site to keep the Voorhees community informed on the progress toward our Fifth Year Review and Q.E.P.
A key to our reaccreditation was to develop a Quality Enhancement Plan, which is a five-year plan for improving some aspect of student learning. This plan will not only improve student learning, but it will also impact student retention. The college decided the focus of its Quality Enhancement Plan will be writing. The theme of the Voorhees College Quality Enhancement Plan is “Journeying Through College Writing: From Thought to Expression.”
Voorhees College was the first historically black college in South Carolina accredited by SACSCOC. It is important that Voorhees College remain accredited in order to carry out the mission that our founder Mrs. Elizabeth Evelyn Wright Menafee had, which was to provide a quality education to young men and women.
We are asking for the support of the entire Voorhees College family as we strive to be successful during this process. Thank you for visiting our SACSCOC Fifth Year Review and Q.E.P. Web site.
