Peer Helpers, all members of the Student Support Services Program themselves, are responsible for planning and conducting weekly “Learn How to Succeed/In Search of Character” Seminars during the fall and spring semesters. They also help monitor the SSSP mini computer lab for members’ use only.
Beyond that, though, they're there to answer your questions and to help you find the information and services you need. They also can introduce you to faculty and staff members who can help as well.
Ask whatever you want: all conversations between classmates and Peer Helpers are kept completely confidential unless there is an immediate threat to the classmate's or another person’s life.
If you're interested in becoming a Peer Helper, contact our office at (803)-780-1279 or stop by Room 103 of the Wilkinson Building.
